She is a psychological intuitive, ordained at St. John the Divine, (The New Seminary) with a degree in Spiritual Counseling. Canova is a Teacher, Public Speaker, Spiritual Counselor, Author and Writer.
She has had an autobiographical, One-Woman show, called, SOULED OUT, which ran Off and Off-Off Broadway for over 13 years. Pattie is a native, smoky-voiced, NYC, story-teller. Her Irish/Italian heritage adds to an unapologetic, no-frills, 'shoot it from the hip' attitude. Canova combines her razor sharp perception with an extensive background in Spiritual Psychology, Metaphysics and objective observations on life. She is an Interfaith Minister. (no religion-all faiths) and teaches through experience, wisdom, candor and wit. Canova was invited by the Rubin Museum of Art to speak on their Carl Jung Red Book series. Canova did a return visit on stage with Daryl McDaniels of DMC as a guest on the Rubin's Talk Series on: Karma, Fate and Destiny.
Her evening was SRO (Standing Room Only) with a two page waiting list. The SRO was repeated at Norma Kamali's Wellness Center for a talk on Relationships. Much like the Irish Abbot- Mark Patrick Hederman, Canova believes that Tarot is a great guide and tool for lifting the veil and navigating the world of the what is, what’s behind the curtain and the unknown. Enhanced by a strong background in Theatre, Mythology, Writing, Metaphysics/Esoteric studies, and a deep spirituality, Canova incorporates keen, analyses with a constructive, practical awareness into her work, following a 'what you see is what you think' philosophy. She holds to: "nothing in our life happens without our full on consent. Whether we are conscious of it or not, the prayer of the heart is always answered."
She is the author of TAROT SUTRA: chosen twice by the Literary Guild/Book of the Month Club and recommended by Marie Claire and Playboy magazines. Her auto biographical One-Woman show which began as: Take a Walk on the Inside to 22 Doors to Souled Out enjoyed several, successful runs @ Nell's, Access Theater, Ars Nova Theater , The Zipper Factory, The Triad, Abingdon Theatre Arts Center and Stage Left in New York City . Due to popular demand, Traveling at the Speed of ENLIGHTENMENT (22 Doors) was brought back to ARS Nova and ran for 12 performances under the direction of Michael Schiralli. The show has been mentioned by The VillageVoice and Time Out, NY Loves Theater, and New York Cool.
Recognized as an expert voice for what it means to undertake one's Journey, Pattie has been quoted in US Magazine and referenced in a feature article in Cosmopolitan. She has appeared on cable TV, Fox TV's Sightings and CNN's America's Talking, as well as a frequent guest on numerous New York and national radio shows. She was featured on Daily Candy and voted as one of their top three 'people' of the year.
She is currently a faculty member at the National Council of Geocosmic Research. She teaches her well-attended, ongoing Tarot/Symbolism/Mythic series of workshops and classes in Manhattan. For over six years Canova was a popular, respected and admired, faculty member at New York's prestigious Open Center, an internationally known school of holistic education. She has lectured at Cooper Unions University and does on line workshops for the Learning Annex. Pattie was part of an esteemed panel of speakers on health issues for the Women's Health Forum at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ. The Women's Health Forum was originally spearheaded by Hillary Clinton and sponsored by the United Nations.
Pattie is the founder and president of Quiet Heart Productions, a center for
quieting the mind and re-orienting toward spirit. She is trained and certified in hypnotherapy. Canova officiates weddings, and other Ministerial services. She adores her children, resides in Long Island, NY, with an office in Manhattan. And continues to walk her talk!
